BMW Motorrad Navigator III

Garmin-Bmw-Motorrad-Navigator-IiiGarmin appears to be getting ready to release the Garmin BMW Motorrad Navigator III, a GPS navigation system designed for BMW motorcycles in the USA. The Garmin BWM Motorrad Navigator III features turn by turn directions, voice prompting, and uses Bluetooth to transmit audio to Bluetooth receivers.

Previously the Navigator II was available in the USA and the Navigator III was available in parts of Europe. We have seen indications the BMW Motorrad Navigator III will soon be available in the USA.

The Navigator III features Bluetooth connectivity that will allow simultaneous connections to both a helmet with integrated Bluetooth audio as well as a cellular phone to offer hands-free communication.

Traffic information can also be obtained through an optional service and FM traffic receiver. There is also an optional remote control which works via IR. No word yet on exactly when the Garmin BMW Motorrad Navigator III might be released in the USA.

  1. Hope that BMW will also release the BMW system V helmet w/ bluetooth or a viable option to it to make the system unbeatable by the compition! Maybe allow Shuberth to sell the bluetooth in their helmets. Shuberth is an affordabe helmet sold in the US and the builder of the BMW helmets

    • Yes, there is a Schuberth helmet available with a comm collar available. It is the C3. Just bought one and it is pricey. Just over a grand with the collar – BUT it works fantastic with any bluetooth or built in FM receiver. I have several quality helmets and the C3 beats them all.

  2. […] Garmin has released the StreetPilot 2820. The new 2820 features a 3.3 inch touch screen display and a 12 channel WAAS enabled GPS receiver. The StreetPilot 2820 is marketed towards both motorcycles and cars. For motorcycles, the StreetPilot 2820 can connect a bluetooth headset or helmet both to a bluetooth phone and to the 2820 itself. You can dial your bluetooth phone directly from the StreetPilot 2820. This device is probably what we had predicted as the Motorrad Navigator III. […]
