Even in the lower left corner, on some vehicles with a sloping windshield, it is still difficult to reach the unit. eg. my wifes nissan.

I’m sure you can mount it without any problem, I have seen taxi’s and limo drivers with it on the lower driver side windshield. Police have more important things to do than go after you for that…
It won’t go into effect until Jan.1, 2009.

Since it has been signed, are we CA folks able to mount it at the bottom left and right corners now? Or will we have to wait until it goes into effect on a certain date?

But isn’t it worse if you have to look away from the windshield to the GPS?

Safety as it can obstruct a portion of your view.

So why didn’t they allow windshield mounting before? What were the reasons?
