Caterpillar Plans L2C GPS Receivers

Caterpillar has announced plans to upgrade their GPS receivers to take advantage of the new L2C GPS signal. (High end farm equipment utilizes GPS technology to provide driving guidance.) They claim customers in the far northernmost and far southernmost parts of the world will see the biggest improvements in GPS accuracy from the L2C GPS signal.
Trimble, a company specializing in high-end GPS receivers for surveying have also announced plans for products utilizing the new signal. Consumer level L2C GPS receivers still loom in the future.
