Cobra NavOne 4500
c|net has reviewed the Cobra NavOne 4500 GPS (nav one) navigation system and has given it an 8.3 out of 10 rating. They liked the large screen, accurate GPS receiver, and traffic receiver. They didn’t like the weight of the NavOne 4500 and the device sometimes has slow route calculations.
Overall, the Cobra NavOne 4500 did a fine job of pinpointing our position on the map, but route calculations were a tad slower than we expected. Still, the routes were accurate, and we especially liked having the option to choose between two different routes. Voice-guided directions were also precise and clearly spoken. The real-time-traffic feature blew us away. As luck would have it, we hit a decent-size snowstorm during one of our road tests in Brooklyn, New York, and the NavOne 4500 warned us of several fender benders along the Belt Parkway.
Cobra normally offers a free, three month subscription so you should be able to check that out if you live in an area covered by the traffic service. The Cobra NavOne 4500 comes with preloaded maps of the US and Canada with over 7.6 million POIs. The most notable feature is the large 5 inch touch screen display.
