Connecting Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance GPS Receivers with Apple Macintosh (Mac) Computers

There seems to be little information around the web surrounding connecting handheld GPS receivers to Apple Macintosh (Mac) computers. Mac computers haven’t had a hint of a serial port in a long time and even with USB, some devices don’t have appropriate drivers to make the USB connection work.

Helping along that way a list has been compiled for data cables that will work with Macs. The list shows various configurations of receivers and connectors.
