Dash has just announced that the Dash Express is going to be available exclusively at Amazon the next 30 days. In addition, the announced price has fallen from $599 to $399. The monthly service fees remain the same.

“…our goal is to continue to offer a wide selection and exclusive access to the latest and greatest consumer technologies,” said Paul Ryder, Vice President, Consumer Electronics at Amazon.com. “GPS is one of the fastest growing consumer electronics categories and we are pleased to be partnering with Dash to bring their next generation solution to our customers,”

“The synergy between Dash and Amazon make this a perfect pairing to bring this first-of-its-kind product to market,” said Paul Lego, CEO of Dash Navigation. “Amazon understands and caters to our tech savvy target customers[...] We can’t wait to get the Dash Express into the market so that we can start providing great real-time information to consumers in their cars every day.”

  1. Isn’t this a bit of a slap in the face to those who preordered from Dash and were made to believe that’s the only place you could get it? Dropping the price by $200 and no pre-payment right on release day seems like a pretty low thing to do for those who preordered this and paid in advance.

  2. Tabs - Dash also dropped the price on their own website, and are only charging customers the new discounted price to those who pre-ordered.
