TopoBird, DeLorme’s digital aerial data collection platform, has begun collecting two-meter digital ortho-imagery for Louisiana and Mississippi, under a contract awarded through the USDA NAIP program. DeLorme is handling the assignment as a sub-contractor to Triathlon/MDA. The TopoBird Cessna Turboprop, with Leica Digital Camera and LiDAR, began the 8-to-15-week aerial collection project in mid-June. TopoBird is available for contract acquisition and processing services, and is used by DeLorme to create high-quality, commercially available stock imagery and elevation model products. To date, TopoBird has collected much of northern New England, including all of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont, and most of Maine. For more information on TopoBird, as well as sample images, go to www.topobird.com.
