Dreameo Solo

Dreameo-SoloMore and more mainstream GPS navigation devices are getting media player qualities such as the ability to play movies, games, and play MP3 music. Other companies are taking their existing portable media players and adding GPS navigation features.

Such is the case with the Dream’eo Solo. Dreameo isn’t a company you hear of muc, but their new Solo is making its way into the United States. The device can play movies, MP3 music, display digital photos, and has turn-by-turn driving directions through its GPS.

“Solo delivers everything you need to stay entertained, organized and en route to your destination,” said Simon He, CEO of Catronics. “Not only does Solo allow you to store, watch and listen to your favorite media in one pocket-sized player, Solo is furnished with a Global Positioning System with automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice direction, and a detailed map of the entire USA and Canada with 1.6 millions Points of Interests (POIs). Solo can also be used as a mobile hard disk drive for additional file storage.”

The Dreameo Solo comes with a 3.5 inch LCD screen and can connect to your computer via USB 2.0.

  1. […] Dreameo is pushing their Dreameo Solo GPS product this week at CES. We have previously posted information about the Dreameo Solo GPS so we’ll leave out some of the finder details here. But this GPS combines GPS navigation with 2D and 3D views, voice guided turn-by-turn directions, and suction cup mounting. […]

  2. The only problems with the Deameo Solo are:

    1) The screen is difficult to read in daylight due to intense reflection.

    2) The earphone jack is the next size smaller than standard earphones. I think standard is 3.5mm the Solo is 2.5mm so it requires an adapter to use anything other than the provided earbuds.

    3) The car adapter is cheaply made and has issues in various vehicles maintaining a proper connection at the power jack. I have experienced this off and on in several rental cars.

Other than that it is a great piece of equipment.

  3. I purchased The SOLO on 1SaleADay for a great price of $99. After 2 weeks of usage the unit will show the splash screen and then turn off. After contacting support they say the will repair the unit but that I bought it at an “Unauthorized Dealer” and need to send $55 for the repair. Since the Warranty doesn’t mention anything about Authorized Dealers. What a Joke….

  4. I too purchased the Drem’eo SOLO on 1SaleADay for a great price of $99. Except mine never worked.

After contacting support they say the will repair the unit but that I bought it for such a low price there is not a warranty and I need to send $45 for the repair.

Sent unit in 3 months ago and Dream’eo will not respond to my attempts to contact anymore. Not sure if unit is being fixed or just being kept permanently by Dream’eo?
