FIC announced today plans to launch a new GPS receiver, the FIC Eagle I. The Eagle I provides the mainstream GPS navigation features; turn-by-turn directions, voice guidance in five languages, audio alerts, 2D and 3D maps and a 3.5 inch touch screen display. It even comes with the SiRF III chipset. What will likely set this GPS apart from the crowd however is the price….. $299.

Today the accuracy, simplicity and usefulness of electronic navigation is simply amazing,” says Lin. “Ask anyone who’s tried using the latest GPS products and it’s difficult to find an unhappy user. In fact, one of our main initiatives with launching our new, $299 Eagle I is to provide a full-featured device to users who still may think of navigation as luxurious and unaffordable.”
