Garmin and TomTom Patent Battle Again

Garmin and TomTom are once again battling over patents. Late last week Garmin filed another lawsuit against TomTom for infringing on a patent for “Portable navigation system and device with audible turn by turn directions” which Garmin won in June. This comes after Garmin filed suit against TomTom in February for other patent disputes.
TomTom has denied the claims made by Garmin and TomTom has previously responded with counterclaims. It looks like the case will be headed to a jury trial in February of 2007.
