Garmin BlueChart g2
Garmin has announced BlueChart g2, a new set of highly detailed cartography. But don’t go running to the store yet, the charts will not be in stores until late March, 2006.
“BlueChart g2 propels Garmin’s award-winning line of charts into the 21st century,” said Gary Kelley, Garmin’s vice president of marketing. “This new line of cartography has an amazing range of features and functions all at a price that is significantly less than comparable electronic charts.”
The new charts are electronically layered to provide a smoother presentation on the plotter display. There is also an optional 3D perspective, and tides and currents can be overlaid on the chart.
The new BlueChart G2 technology is built in on the new Garmin GPSMAP 492, GPSMAP 498 as well as the new GPSMAP 3200 series and GPSMAP 2200 series chartplotters.
