Garmin eTrex Venture Cx

Garmin has released details surrounding the new Garmin eTrex Venture Cx. What is the big deal about this GPS? It comes with a microSD card slot, and a color screen yet retails for $250. Availability is expected before the end of this month (March 06).

Expect about 32 hours of battery life with AA batteries. The eTrex Venture Cx comes with a built in Americas basemap and since it comes with a microSD slot you can add pre-programmed cards for other applications such as marine cartography, topo maps, or inland lake maps.

“The eTrex product line is highly regarded by adventure seekers and outdoor sportsmen because of its full features and versatility,” said Gary Kelley, Garmin’s vice president of marketing. “And with the new Venture Cx, budget conscious users will no longer have to make compromises between advanced features and cost.”

One Comment

  1. The eTrex Venture Cx does NOT come with the new SIRF chipset. None of the new eTrex series come with it. The only Garmin outdoor recreation devices supporting SIRF are Forerunner 205/305, Edge 205/305 and the GPSMAP 60CSx.
