I have had the eTrex Vista Cx for a couple of months, and overall it is pretty good. The only complaint I have is the difficulty of using NiMH batteries (rechargeables), because of their low voltage (1.2V), even though there is a setting to select NiMH batteries it doesn't work. However, it runs for a very long time on regular Alkaline batteries, so it isn't a huge drawback, more annoying than anything.

The best part about it is the use with Google Earth and/or mapping software for topographical display. With Google Earth ($20/year version) you can download waypoints, routes and track data that includes mile-per-hour averages and altitudes. It would be nice if they included an accessory or two, but it is overall a good buy. I paid $299 for it in a store, only because I could compare the models with a salesman that knew about the products. You can find them for $229 or so on-line if you know something about your requirements.

I have had the eTrex Vista Cx for almost a month and would highly recommend it. It is fairly accurate in all conditions including in the city. I was also extremely impressed with its accuracy to measure speed in cars. With it I have located 4 geocaches. I do question its "waterproofness", however. I have no complaints and only glory for it.
