Garmin Forerunner 205 Garmin Forerunner 305

Also as expected, Garmin today released the Garmin Forerunner 205 and the Garmin Forerunner 305 in their fitness line of GPS receivers. What sets them apart from their predecessors is the new form factor, the antenna wraps the GPS antenna around the wrist band for better reception and a better look. The Garmin Forerunner 305 also includes a heart rate monitor.

The new Forerunners are ideal for any outdoor activity — from a leisurely stroll to a competitive marathon,” said Gary Kelley, Garmin’s vice president of marketing. “No matter what your activity or fitness level, the Forerunner gives users immediate feedback on the information they’re most interested in such as calories burned, distance traveled, pace, or heart rate. The Forerunner also has navigation features so you can always make it back to your starting point.

  1. I have a garmin forerunner 301 and loved it in the beginning, but I am having trouble with it losing distance. On a run recently it was a difference of half a mile. (On a 8.0) I like the velcro type strap-and don’t really want to have to buy a newer model for better tracking. This is only about 2 years old. Thanks for your input!
