Garmin Goes Crossover

Jan

2007

In a similar move to what Magellan has done with some of their GPS devices, Garmin has announced that soon all of their Nuvi devices will accept Topo maps as well as their BlueChart marine maps. Previously this would have required two GPS devices from Garmin but soon you will be able to load multiple kinds of maps on a Nuvi.

This makes a lot of sense with a GPS device as portable as those in the Nuvi series. The additional TOPO maps typically cost around $115.

  1. I have been looking for a Crossover unit. Would like to use it in the car and boating, in Rehoboth Bay DE area and the Atlantic Ocean. Could use some help in determining what is a good unit.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
