We currently have the garmin e-trex legend and I want to buy a newer model for my husband for Christmas. I am looking at the 205W and the 255W. As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two. I would like one that "talks" to alert upcoming turns, etc. Can you offer any suggestions?

My wife has a nuvi 200 and bought me a nuvi 255wt for my birthday. When I hooked it up and used it the first time just on map view it dont tell you the next road your coming to like the 200 does. Is there any of the newer models that still tells the roads on the top bar as your in map view?

The only problem we had with the new Garmin 205W was at the Indianapolis airport. Apparently, they have recently redone the roads in and out of the airport and the new configuration wasn't in our unit's memory. It was actually kind of funny because the screen showed us 4-wheeling in the grass when we were actually driving toward the parking building. We even experimented with the different languages! The voice sounds so disappointed when we don't do what she wants us to do. It was a running gag during our vacation, every time we got lost or turned around we would look at each other and imitate the Garmin lady ... "recalculating."

Does the nuvi205W have the capability to show where you are going all the time, without a destination input? Can that be set up to be on all the time when your just driving around town? I just bought one and havent installed it yet.

Rose, then you will want to step up to the <a href="http://www.gpsreview.net/garmin-nuvi-755t/">Garmin Nuvi 755T</a> or the <a href="http://www.gpsreview.net/garmin-nuvi-755t/">Garmin Nuvi 755T</a>.

After much research on your site, I recently purchased a 255W for a trip from Texas to Chicago. As a first-time user, it was a great GPS. However, there are a few features that I wished that it had. Maybe you can help me.

I would like to retain all of the features of the 255W, plus

1. I would like it to show me the lane that I should be in. Many times I missed my exit because I was not in the correct lane.

2. I would also like to be able to plan my trip on my computer and download it to my GPS.

3. I need a multi-destinational unit. We're retired and we want to plan a trip with many stops.

4. Blue Tooth capability.

I know that this will cost me more, but I'm willing to upgrade monetarily.

Thank you so much for your site it has been very helpful.

Ok, I'm back and the Nuvi205W was not what I wanted. It did not have name of streets I was turning to or about to turn into. In the search area it was way too slow. It just seemed generic for a Garmin. But I got what I paid for. So, I exchanged it for the Nuvi265T and I hope this is what I'm looking for.

Just purchased the Nuvi205W. I haven't been able to test it out yet. It's currently charging. I got it from Walmart because best buy was trying to charge me double because of the bundle pkg. I will write more once I get on the road and try it out. So far, everything looks good. By the way, thanks to this site I was able to make my mind up. Very helpful.
