Hi Paul-

1) No. You can save locations but not trips.
2) You can send locations, but not routes.

Both of those are not possible because the 200 series doesn’t support multi destination routing.

I am considering acquiring a nuvi 255 and have a couple of questions that hopefully you will answer, or clarify:
1). Is there a way to save, or retain, previous trips? In reading some of the posted comments it appears that they can be saved as favorites. True?
2). Can information from Google Mmaps or MapQuest be downloaded to the 255.

I tried to connect my nuvi 255 to pc.
gps unit seems to be connected, but pc doesn’t recognize it. it says that no unit is connected to usb port.
how can I do? is there anybody can help me?

Are there any differences between the Garmin Nuvi 255 and the 255W other than the screen size (and thus overall size), the SD/micro SD storage, and the price? What are the advantages of the 4.3″ versus the 3.5″ screen?

Bought this unit last Friday. We enjoy it’s pin-point accuracy, quick recalculations/routing and search options. I was not impressed with it’s lack of information for POI’s in small towns and not showing a state road until I was actually on the road. Living in South Texas with lots of rural routes, this could be a big inconvenience. I have downloaded firm ware, but no fix yet. It’s getting its next big test tomorrow. I was really tossed between this and the TT330. Too many pros and cons for each.
Are there any suggestions to help make sure all roads appear and to get more POIs loaded?

I bought a Garmin 255 and really like it. However, it does one strange thins with the text to voice. I live in Connecticut and for a state route, such as route 8, the display shows “CT-8″ but the voice announces “Court 8″. Doesn’t it know that the route is prefaced by the state name or is that not universal for all states? BTW, I have now problem with the voice, it is more than clear enough.

After 3 years with Magellan, bought Nuvi255 on Consumer rpt recommendation. I like unit very much. Only complaint, nearby roads over 4 years old are not in data base. And no updates available for this unit on the market 6 months.
