If Wal-Mart told you that then I'd take the issue up with them. However I've never seen any marketing materials from Garmin mentioning free map updates. Garmin does offer users the ability to download the current map if the device didn't ship with the current map. You have 60 days to take advantage of that offer (not 6 months). But in all of the materials I've seen on that program it is pretty clear about the 60 day limit mentioning it several times in the intro text. I am thoroughly disgusted- this is clearly a scam whereby Garmin makes money out of those who do not read & abide by the instructions from cover to cover. Im hoping its because its not the right cables but I want to make sure theres no defect before I purchase the cable. Thank you for any help you can provide!
