I've had my Nuvi 770 since last December and the experience overall has been good. It's my first one so I have nothing to compare it to, but there haven't been any problems.

I have been comparing the GPS units on your web-site. I have decided to purchase the 760,770, or the 780. Which do you recommend to someone who has never had a GPS unit? I also noticed that the 780 is no longer being made. Is this correct? I also realize that the 770 has the same features as the 760, exception: the 770 has the Europe traffic receiver. I will go with your recommendation.

I believe they do need to be an authorized dealer.

If I purchase a refurb 770 with a 1 year factory warranty, does the dealer have to be an authorized Garmin dealer for the warranty to be effective? Thanks.

I am considering the purchase of the Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS unit as a gift. My question to you is this a user friendly unit that will provide easy navigation and to various points of interest. Also, is the real-time traffic updates (i.e. accidents, construction, etc.) included in the purchase prices for both the Nuvi 760 and the 770?

Thanks,

Robin

Dear Tim

I have garvin nuvi 760 and I'm in the process of buying a refurbished Garvin nuvi 770. My questions: 1) because the 770 has Europe included does this mean there are fewer POI on it; 2)is buying a refurbished unit with a one year full warrenty a good idea.

Please reply

Rich, "pocketable" is simply a reference to the physical size of the device. Devices less than 1 inch thick and less than about 4 inches wide are considered "pocketable". Most widescreen GPS models like the Nuvi 700 series won't fit that definition.

One of the comparision charts says the 770
(and a bunch of others) are not 'pocketable'

What is meant by that and is there a model with
Euro maps that is made for your pocket.
I mostly walk there, no car.
