If you happen to be one of the lucky Garmin Nuvi owners (300 or 350), take note that Garmin has released a software update for the Garmin Nuvi today. This update will take your Garmin Nuvi to version 2.70. Fixes:

  • Added option to turn autozoom on/off in the map settings.
  • Fixed possible problem with GPX waypoint name overflow.
  • Corrected rendering of some diacritic characters.
  • Fixed Swedish cardinal direction translation.
  • Improvements to Map Info page.

  4. Can I use my nuvi in Freepert Bahamas? or must I spend $$$$ to get those maps?

  5. You would need to spend money on extra maps, but I’m not away (I could be wrong) of any Bahamas maps being available from Garmin.

  6. Actually, the Garmin WorldMap product ($117) provides limited coverage for the Bahamas. You can view the coverage by going here and then panning/zooming the map to where you want to view.

  7. LOL, pretty tough getting lost on one of the small islands, roadways are pretty strieght foward (litteraly), that is if they are paved. Your BEST bet is print out google maps satalite view and you can see all the roads you need.
