Garmin StreetPilot i5

The Garmin StreetPilot i5 is the upper end of the StreetPilot series. There are a few things that set the i5 apart from the rest of the series. The i5 includes pre-installed maps of North America and features a color screen. (The i3 also includes a color screen, but no pre-installed maps.)

What some people dislike about the i5 (and the i series in general) is the somewhat smaller screen. Sometimes in complex road layouts having a larger screen is helpful, however most of the time this should not be an issue. However if your eyesight is less than perfect and you have trouble reading the clock on your dash, you might want to consider a GPS with a larger screen.

The advantage though is that the StreetPilot i5 is overall a fairly small size. Garmin describes it as being no larger than a baseball which is true. If you are looking for something smaller to be portable between vehicles or just something easy to stow away out of sight when you leave the car, the StreetPilot i5 is a good choice.

  1. Love Mine! Easy to use, doesn’t take up much room
and takes the guess work out of how to get where you are going. Just sorry it took me so long to buy it.
