Chris,
Are you sure the Zumo is not on battery power? Do you see the battery symbol on the screen? Make sure you do not have the positive and negative wires reversed.

I have hard wired a zumo 550 to my bike battery, when I put the zumo into the bike mount the zumo does not come on automatically. In order to turn it on I have to use the on/off switch and when that happens the battery bars appear meaning it is not on external power. I have checked the power cord and have 12 v at the end, have also swaped out the motorcycle mount with another and still does not work properly. Anyone else run into this problem and if so what did you do to correct it.
cheers

Have read through these notes. Interesting history. The 550 still is a great workhorse and preferred it seems by some over the 660.

I've been studying ad nauseum the various reviews and sites about the bluetooth mish-mash of the device. I am tempted to either go with corded headsets because they work with it, or else with the only manufacturer who seems to have come up with a complete replacement of the Zumo Bluetooth chipset with that of their own. The Z550 from Collet in Canada. http://www.collett.mb.ca/ You can use the module adapter alone with other bluetooth headsets and pair with it for true compatibility verses using Zumo's non A2DP chipset. You could also use a wiRevoD1003 dongle plugged into the zumo to get your A2DP compatible stereo music coming out of the phono plug on the cycle mount stand.
I'm still researching....

I installed the HDBomm on '09 CVO Ultra. It is a "wired" option, but works perfectly. Only my iPhone is using Bluetooth only via the Zumo 550. Try this website www.hdbomm.com. Jim also accepts request for additional information.

Thanks, Tim. That list seems a bit out-dated. It doesn't seem to have the newer AT&T phones. I'm hoping someone has a phone that works and I might consider that model.
Thanks!
