Global Locate Location Patents
Global Locate was issued an additional patent this week in support of their Worldwide Reference Network (WWRN) that provides assistance data to location-enabled devices such as mobile phones. The patent covers a network of reference stations sending data to a server which creates a model from which GPS data is derived and sent to mobile devices.
“The WWRN is offered as a turn-key service requiring no infrastructure build-out by the network operator,” he noted. “Unlike regional sets of reference stations, the WWRN always has a complete model of the GPS constellation, guaranteeing subscribers the most accurate and complete GPS assistance data, regardless of their geographic location.” – David Lundgren, Director of WWRN operations
Global Locate CEO Scott Pomerantz stated, “Protecting Global Locate’s investment in developing fundamental assisted-GPS intellectual property is a key component of our business strategy. We are pleased the patent office has granted patent protection on our innovations in this area.”
