GPS Auto-Steer Vehicles
Yes, it is coming. AutoFarm is introducing a system called Cultiva OnTrac sometime in March. The system uses GPS signals to automatically steer vehicles with an accuracy of about two inches.
But we are not talking about cars here…. just yet. These systems are designed for agricultural tractors. The system installs in about thirty minutes and costs about $8500 USD.
The Cultiva OnTrac drive integrates with the steering wheel to ensure precise vehicle control in all conditions. The OnTrac is controlled via the Cultiva ATC, which features an 8.4-inch color display providing the operator a Virtual Highway view of the field.
