Define: POI stands for Points Of Interest and is the database of nearly everything other than roads in GPS navigation data. Restaurants, hotels, gas stations, museums, and other attractions are all examples of POIs.

  1. I work for an electric utility with substations scattered across 4 states. Each station has lat/long available and has be located on GoogleEarth. What feature should I look for that would allow me to enter or download the lat/long information into the GPS for driving instructions to these sites?

  2. Custom POI databases. Almost any Garmin or TomTom GO/XL device will do that.
