In New Zealand there is a proposed change that will require cabbies to have a more fluent knowledge of English though language tests. This comes as a result of mounting complaints by people using the cabs. However there may be a loophole to the proposed restriction… GPS.
Cabbies who have GPS navigation systems installed will be exempt from the language tests because the information they need would be installed in their dash.
