GPS Spoofing

Oct

2005

People who track their vehicle fleets or employees by GPS might have some difficulty soon since word has GPS Spoofers have been released in the UK. The GPS Spoofers will send junk NMEA (tracklog) data to a GPS receiver to alter the tracklog data. Therefore someone will be able to alter the GPS to say they were somewhere they were not, alter the speed the GPS says they were traveling, or alter the course the GPS says they took.
