Harris Corporation has been awarded an $18.2 million contract by Being to provide Anti-Jam GPS (AJ GPS) modules for Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). The new Anti-Jamming kits contain a GPS-based Inertial Navigation System. (Inertial Navigation Systems are widely used in commercial aircraft as well to assist with navigation.) The kits provide resistance to intentional and intentional RF interference of GPS signals.

“JDAM is a high-profile munition that will play a significant role in any conflict where precise delivery of weapons is essential, helping to minimize casualties to noncombatants and collateral damage to vital infrastructures,” said Dan Pearson, president of the Department of Defense (DoD) Programs business unit of Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD). “We are very pleased that Boeing continues to select Harris as a preferred supplier of critical AJ GPS electronics for its JDAM program.”
