Hotels Lending GPS Navigation Systems to Guests
The latest trend in the hotel industry is to lend out GPS navigation systems to guests. Hotel guests are often staying in unfamiliar locations where GPS navigation systems can be very handy. In addition the hotels can help market local businesses and attractions through custom POI databases.
A recent example of this is Garmin teaming up with Rosewood Hotels to lend Garmin iQue M3 Pocket PC GPS” systems to guests.
“At The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, in New York City, The Mansion on Turtle Creek, A Rosewood Hotel, in Dallas and Hotel Crescent Court, A Rosewood Hotel, also in Dallas, guests can simply use the new iQue M3 as a guide to find their way from the hotel to a business meeting or luncheon, and maybe some afternoon shopping,” said the company.
