Initial Technology is pushing the Initial GD-70x this week at CES. We have covered the GD-70x before, so we will not cover it in depth here, but this GPS navigation device comes with a 7 inch LCD screen that can play CDs, DVDs, photo CDs and comes with an an anti-shock system to prevent skipping.
On May 24th I ordered Initial GD-70X GPS.
From the day one I experienced problems with the system updating information on the right part of screen on time.
System was showing that I am located 300 – 400 feet away from the intersection,
but in fact I already made a turn (at the same time location of the car on the map itself was accurate).
Right away left part of the screen got completely blank for the few seconds. Then 5-6 seconds later returns back to the navigation process.
On June 3rd unit wouldn’t start navigation at all and produce an error:
“The system can’t find navigate the software in the Flash, please check it, then restart the systemâ€
Igor – It sounds very well like you might have a defective unit. I would contact the store you purchased it from and ask for an exchange or contact Initial for a warranty replacement.
i bought this system because it can played dvd,but i dont know how to make the gps work.
how to load the gps?
how to make it work?
the system asking for the card,what kind of card do i need?
where i can find the card?
and what else do i need to make everything working?
PROBLEMS IS ONLY THE FIRST WORD FOR THIS UNIT ,AT FIRST IT COULD NOT FIND A SATELITE,THEN IT WOULD JUST FREEZE UP ,SENT IT BACK TO FACTORY ,FOR ANOTHER 100.00 AND THE NEW ONE IS VERY LATE IN TELLING YOU TO TURN ,IT IS ABOUT 200 FT SHORT OF THE TURN ,THEN IT IS ABOUT 500 FT OF PICKING UP THE SIGNAL AS YOU DRIVE AWAY THE WRONG WAY,A POOR CHOICE IN NAVAGATION ON THE ROAD. CD PLAYER WORKS GREAT ,BUT YOU CAN BYE A CD PLAYER FOR 69.95 WITH A 7 INCH SCREEN,MY BEST COMMENT ON THE GPS SYSTEM IS VERY POOR,FOR THE BUCK
have initial 701 bought 1/6/06 keep freezing, was replaced no problem. new 1 does freez on occassion. no problem. on 9/18/08 enroute 2 job FLASH popped up NO SIGNAL unable 2 navigate check literature. broke antenna as fellon floor prior2 FLASH. never used antenna anyway how do i fix FLASH
At turn on I get the message “System cannot find navigate the software in Flash, please check it, then restart the system.” How do I check it?
I ve both a initial gps navigation gm-351, but i can’t install argentinas maps. /Did anyone knows where i can find them?
Are there updated CD’s available? Mine is over 4 years old and I am driving on more “Off Road” locations due to new roads being built and not on the CD.
