I did what you suggested with the map of France but it didn't work; LN730 does not find the new map on the CD1. May be I missed something. When editing MapsAmerica.xml are you adding the new map or are you replacing one of the existing map? Do I need to also add a '.png' file? where can I find this file? When you did this for UKmap did you also add the EURoads.zip file? Thanks for a quick reply!

Saw your comments...the Unit already came loaded with US/Canada Maps - do you need Maps for upgrading and can we download again the old Maps from the CD that came with it and maybe the message "GPS signal too low" will go away?

I purchased an LN730 a few years ago and was told that the maps were easy to get. After many emails to LG, I find their service to be totally inadequate. They were no help and I doubt I will ever buy another LG product. This is not the way to take care of your customers........

My LN730 every now and then gives an alarm sound and the name of one of the Folder(s) where I have stored the addresses.

Just cleared them all and still the same - any idea why?

Tried resetting too - no luck.

Yoursef
thank you for your help.
As many others, I am not really familiar with editing and doing all these things. If possible, can you please explaind in details when ever you have time.
I got Destinator 7 and I would like to replace old US and Canada maps with Destinator, but I can not figure ir out how to do that. I beleive the format is something REsomething.

No, just the destinator maps are good. LG's own maps were destinator maps - if you look at the CD, its got the same icon as destinator.

The way I did it, I edited the LGE Navigation CD1 to include the zipped up Destinator map of the country I wanted to add. Then, loading that CD, GPS thought the map was coming from LG and took it in. Its not super easy to do, but its not hard either:

0. Buy Destinator maps of the country of choice/ newer maps, etc.
1. Make CD image of LGE Navigation CD1.
2. Edit CD image to add the ZIP file and WCE file of the map to add (follow pattern of the rest already included)
3. Edit MapsAmerica.XML to properly include the new map (follow pattern of the rest already included)
4. Burn image to new CD and use.

Yousuf.
What do I need to load onto the 730 in order to get the destinator maps to work? just the maps, or is there something else to load first?
Thanks

I phoned LG Canada, and I was emailed an order form and given the following info for updated Canadian/US Maps:
The price is $99.00+tax+ $15 shipping fee.
The parts order form is to be sent to the customer either via email, fax or post.
