I have also heard that because the 500 is so big and heavy their are probs with strong enough mount. 2. the 350 has an internal speaker and regular cigarette plug instead of that giant speaker contraption that the 500 uses. 3.probably the biggest feature I think for the 350 is internal Batteries (so when you get it you can sit aroud the house and play with it for ours without being in the car.) personaly though I am trying to return my 350 and get a garmin too many glitches and search problems. you can see my full oppinoin here http://www.gpsreview.net/lowrance-iway-350c-reader-report/ the main differences I know of if your just comparing the lowrance 350 and the 500
