Magellan Jumps on Lifetime Map Highway
Following TomTom and Garmin, Magellan is now offering new GPS models that include map updates. A few different flavors are available, for example the RoadMate 3045-LM offers lifetime map updates included while the RoadMate 3045-MU offers a single free map update.
The “rules” for the single map update go like this:
Map update program entitles you to receive one (1) free map data update during the life of the GPS receiver or until Magellan no longer receives relevant map data. Internet connection and Content Manager required.
The lifetime map update rules go like this:
Lifetime Maps entitles you to receive up to four (4) map updates per year, for the life of the GPS receiver or until Magellan no longer receives relevant map data. Internet connection and Content Manager required
Also interesting is another model popping up which bundles the RoadMate 1470 with a bean bag mount accessory, dubbed the “RoadMate 1470 Bean Bag Mount Bundle”.
Life time maps, is that for the life time of the unit or life time of Magellan? how many maps are they going to release per year?
Magellan is now included with Mio and Navman as one, really said to see a great company losing grounds like this. It’s really to bad.
James, I put that information right into the body of the post.

Is it possible to change the voice on the magellan roadmate 3045?
