What was initially introduced as the Magellan RoadMate 2500T has changed names before its launch and is now known as the Magellan CrossoverGPS. No changes other than the name are apparent, the price remains $549.99 and availability is still expected in December.

I bought a Magellan Crossover and had to send it in for repair. After numerous calls and emails talking to techs in India, I finally complained to BBB and NOW am finally getting a new unit. This is the second time this has happened.
My advice is DO NOT Purchase the Magellan Crossover GPS!! I purchased one late last year. I thought I had done enough research but I soon found out that I hadn’t. There are NO street navagation map updates available for the Cropssover. You can get TOPO updates but NO street map updates. The preloaded base map is at least 5 years old.
My unit has now frozen, it won’t power up, and since I can’t produce a sales receipt, no warranty service is available!! Even though I registered the unit with Magellan when I purchased it.
Its my opinion that Magellan doesn’t really care about consumer electronics. Their product support is terrible!!!
