Over at Best Buy they are showing a new Magellan model, the Magellan SE4. The SE4 shows as in-stock for $120, otherwise few details are known about this new GPS, targeting holiday bargain shoppers. Here is what we do know.
According to the specs, the Magellan SE4 will come with a widescreen, text-to-speech, and Navteq maps of the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. You also get multi-destination routing, six million POIs, and about a three hour battery life. This makes for a pretty standard feature GPS at a decent price and will compare well with devices like the TomTom XL340s and the Garmin Nuvi 255w.

I purchased this GPS on 1/5/10. I had an older Magellan that had finally begun to die on me. I was on the road heading to an appointment when halfway there my older Magellan died. I pulled into a store and was shopping, not really happy to be making a purchase at this time, right after the holidays. The store had the SE4 marked down and so I bought it. I went out to the car, installed the unit on the windshield mount and off I went. Very easy to use, easy to see with the wide screen, a light touch on the screeen is all that is needed. much easier to use than my older Magellan. I would highly recommend this for anyone that is on the road all day going to different locations. Or anyone else for that matter. 5 STARS in my book!
