I just bought a Garmin 255w. Right now it does not have me going on highway 64/40 in St. Louis since it is still closed. What happens when the highway reopens? I do I tell it to recognize it is open? I am really hoping I do not have to buy a new map in 6 months.

I just updated my 910 to latest software and also purchased latest MAP 725. The Tomtom home then tells me I can download mapshare corrections (33286 of them) which I do, but I am not sure if they are correctly being installed as Tomtom home keeps insisting that by displaying msg: "Your map has not been updated for 51 weeks 33286 free Map Share map corrections waiting"
Anyone else see this? Is Map 725 ok with latest software for 910?
Thanks

Awesome, thanks for the quick response, your valuable input, and wonderful website, Tim. It looks like I'll be moving into the TomTom world starting today.

MapShare and traffic are really separate things. While they work well together, they have different goals. MapShare is used for physical changes to the road network that are largely permanent. (Or at least will last more than a couple of months.

RDS-TMC Traffic is for "live" events mostly.... what is happening now that is different than expected.

I am thinking of purchasing a TomTom 730 and I want to get an RDS TMC as well, but the more I read about map share and IQ Routes I'm not sure if I really need the Traffic Receiver as well. What are your thoughts on this? I currently have a Garmin 660 w/RDS-TMC which is nice because of the construction reroutes, especially in minnesota where all we have is Construction and Winter but mapshare seems to acomplish the same thing

You can't really "cancel" it, but you can go in and submit another correction with the opposite change.

I entered a correction using MapShare incorrectly. It was a street direction, and I misunderstood the instructions. How would I go about cancelling this.
