NAVIGON 2120 Max

Mar
4
2008

The NAVIGON 2120 Max is basically the same as the NAVIGON 2100 Max with the exception of having maps of the USA and Canada. (The 2100 includes just the USA 48 Contiguous States.) Therefore most comments and questions should probably be applied to that page unless they are specific and unique to the 2120.

  1. Has anyone tried the 2120 Max? Is it really the same as the 2100 Max?

  2. Any news on the 2200T? Supposedly includes lifetime traffic!

  3. I use the 2120 Max, but can’t compare it to the 2100 Max (never used that one). What I’d like to know is how can Navigon (or any GPS provider) expect people to pay for map updates? Can’t the files be shared?

  4. The maps are first verified and then serialized to the device they are installed on and cannot be shared.

  5. IMHO, the problems with maps updates is not really if it’s free but rather the cost. I was selling Garmin when I was a vendor not long ago and we always recommended to bypass one or two maps updates except for intense professional use. The little difference wasn’t worth the price. I consider CN update to be a rip-off. I mean it’s half the price of the full version! Yet the data difference is what, 5-10%? If it was 20$ I would consider it a fair price and would gladly update every times.
