Pratt County, Kansas Investigating GPS Location of Cellphones
In Pratt County, Kansas officials are looking into obtaining a new E-911 (enhanced 911) system that will allow emergency personnel to locate victims of accidents when they place calls with their mobile phones.
The county currently does not have such technology to locate cellular callers when they don’t know their location. Sometimes they are able to obtain the information from the cellular providers, however they are not open 24/7 to provide such services to emergency personnel.
