Rakon, an electronics company in New Zealand has built what they believe is the smallest GPS receiver every built. The product isn’t ready to be rolled out the door yet, however. Rakon is working on increasing the sensitivity of the GPS receiver. These tiny GPS receivers are designed to work in ever shrinking tech devices such as PDAs, mobile phones, and GPS enabled watches.
Rakon might not be a company you have heard of before, however the parts they produce drive more than have of all GPS products manufactured today. Among Rakon’s investors are Navman founder Peter Maire.
