RF Micro Devices, represented in Australia by RF Parts, have launched a converged Bluetooth/GPS solution, the RF8900. The device permits anyone with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or PDA to receive location-based services. The RF8900 is offered with a reference design, ensuring compact solutions through an accelerated design-in process. The solution also includes a host processor that executes software for GPS navigation, Bluetooth communication and system integration functions that are customised for high-volume applications.
