If they're adding a hardware GPS I'm wondering why they're not supporting the 1G iPhone - surely that would dramatically increase their market.

Well, "Garmin user"... Garmin doesn't have an iPhone app so one could only assume it will be better.

Someone mentioned that they don't think this is real because of agreements with companies such as google, youtube, etc.

I think given the fact that during Apples most recent press release they didnt go as far as saying that their partnership with At&t is rubbish but they came pretty close. Apple has always been about the best technology and best customer service. The partnership with At&t was a segway for them to get this product on the market with a large organization so that they could better market themselves in the future. By doing so they put their beliefs on hold to appease At&t. Now that they have come to the realization that the iphone has a following and that the customers will follow it anywhere... Soo they are now going to do what is right for the customer. Google and Youtube are all free services that the user could use by simply hitting the safari button and going to the site itself. Why wouldn't Apple augment their revenues by utilizing an app that would make their customers even more satisfied with their product, make them more dedicated, and make their company more money during the times that they are not upgrading to the new iphone 3gS, which is a joke but dont get me started on that.

This is so horrible, the company that overcharges.....AT&T.... is not bad enough? If I could use my Iphone on Sprint I could do everything I pay 130 bucks a month for for 70 bucks. Oh an I would have full turn by turn GPS on a Sprint phone. I just want Apple to stop screwing us around, they are already overcharging us.
