TomTom Q3 2006 Figures

TomTom recently released their Q3 figures for 2006. The biggest news is that in that quarter TomTom sold over 1.3 million GPS devices, making it the first quarter to sell over one million. The average price was about $358 which was about $30 lower than the previous quarter.

TomTom reports that their market share continues to be above 50% in Europe and around 20% in the USA. So where does that leave TomTom for the holiday, Q4 shopping season? TomTom isn’t expected to release any new GPS devices until the first of next year, but holidays sales should be good with the new TomTom ONE.

“The ONE clearly will be a Christmas product, and we expect that to perform strongly” - CFO Marina Wyatt
