TomTom has introduced a new model in Europe, the TomTom Start. It is unclear if the Start will make it over to this side of the Atlantic, although this model would fit well into many Black Friday sales. The interface has been simplified so the most casual GPS users should be able to use it with little effort. The main menu looks to take a queue from Garmin devices by limiting the user two primary choices.
While limited in menu options to simplify the user interface, the device isn’t completely stripped of features. The TomTom Start does come with the most innovative TomTom specific features such as IQ Routes and MapShare. The TomTom Start uses a 3.5″ touch screen, and is available with optional “StartSkins”– changeable faceplates of varying colors.
